A place for Rover

A three acre Naugatuck Dog Park will soon open.  The park is located off of Andrew Mountain Road.  In the area around the park there are also walking trails, a picnic area, and a community garden.

There are important rules and regulations associated with the use of the park in order to ensure the safety of the dogs and their owners.  Some rules for owners are that they must unleash their dog at the entrance, they must carry a leash at all times, there cannot be more than two dogs per person, and they must clean up after their dogs.

Some other regulations are dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations and be licensed; glass bottles and containers are not to be brought into the park, dogs are the only pets allowed inside the fence, smoking or eating is not allowed in the park, and children under the age of twelve are not allowed past the fence.

The park is also currently accepting tax-deductible donations that will be used for improvements to and maintenance of the dog park.  Any donations can be dropped off at Town Hall or mailed to the Borough of Naugatuck.
