Terrorist plows into pedestrians in Stockholm, Sweden
On April 7, 2017 a stolen truck drove into a crowd at a shopping center in central Stockholm, Sweden, killing four people and injuring several others. People in that area evacuated the scene shortly after it happened.
The prime minister of Sweden, Stefan Lofven, denounced this as a terrorist attack.
The driver escaped the bloody scene and was the focus of an intense manhunt. Swedish police received calls about a person who injured others driving a vehicle on the central Stockholm street of Drottninggatan, Sweden. Helicopters were on the lookout as well as the transit system, being shut down.
Several people were rushed in ambulances, and live footage was recorded of smoke coming from the department store the truck smashed into. There have been no reasons to why the driver of the truck did this.
The next day police arrested a suspect who most likely was driving the stolen truck. There is no further details on this suspect at the moment.
The prime minister said, “Terrorists want us to be afraid, to not live our lives normally. Terrorists can never defeat Sweden, never.”
