The show’s views continued into its second week since the report, averaging 3.7 million on the Monday and Tuesday before O’Reilly left for vacation.
Original Post – Bill O’Reilly is potentially fighting for his TV career. Bill O’Reilly’s future at Fox News may be over due to a sexual-harassment accusation raised by a woman named Wendy Walsh.
She had said that O’Reilly propositioned her in 2013 in a hotel room in Los Angeles, and then retaliated against her when she refused.
Walsh is a Los Angeles radio personality and author who offers relationship advice. She hasn’t sued or sought compensation – just validation that she and 4 other women were wronged by this action.
Bill O’Reilly was the host of the new program “The O’Reilly Factor,” which began airing on Fox News in 2001. This featured conservative commentary and interviews and became the most watched news program.
O’Reilly allegedly dropped Walsh as a regular guest on his show and reneged on a promise to help her secure a paying position as a Fox News commentator after she refused to go to his suite in the Los Angeles hotel.
On the other hand, O’Reilly’s defenders say he never made a job offer and did not retaliate against Walsh. Instead, they continuously said O’Reilly was very helpful to Walsh after their meeting at Hotel Bel-Air.
For four months, O’Reilly continuously invited her on his program after the hotel encounter. But according to Lisa Bloom, Walsh’s attorney, Walsh continued to go on O’Reilly’s program because she still hoped to become a paid contributor to Fox News.
Bloom then said that O’Reilly had a “history of attacking women who complain about his sexual harassment.”
For help in promoting Walsh’s book, Bloom told us, “Life is not black or white. Wendy does not contend that every action he took was retaliation. . . . She [was] trying to stay very friendly with him to salvage that chance for the job. She wanted him to see her as nonthreatening. She wanted him to be professional and get over it.”
The producers of O’Reilly’s show told us that Walsh was informed on June 2013 that her almost-weekly segments that she did with Bonny Forrest would be sadly ending,
“I take sexual harassment and racial discrimination very seriously. But I also believe in this instance there are some statements made in press that aren’t consistent with my experience,” Forrest told the Post.
