Prince Harry of Wales Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, or more commonly known as Prince Harry, is now engaged to Meghan Markle, American actress, model, and humanitarian. On November 27, 2017, the Clarence House, a royal residence in London, released a statement about the newly engaged couple in a memo.

“His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms Meghan Markle,” the memo read.

“The wedding will take place in spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course. His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty the Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents. The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace,” it continued.US Weekly

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry met on a blind date in June 2016 and have since been together. They have been dating quietly due to Markle’s acting career and their relationship was announced through the press in October that year.

This will be Meghan Markle’s second marriage. She was married to producer and actor Trevor Engelson; they were in a relationship together for 7 years.

Meghan Markle is 36 and is most known for her appearance on the American TV series, Suits, which first aired in 2011. Markle started out her career as a freelance calligrapher and picked up acting contracts as well as modeling contracts. She started out her acting career making a cameo in General Hospital (2002) and later in roles in Century City (2004), The War at Home (2006), and CSI: New York (2006).

Prince Harry is 33 and is the youngest son of the late Princess Diana of Wales.

The youngest son chose to go to the military after university and complete training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The Prince of Wales attained a cornet position, equivalent to a lieutenant, and entered into the Blues and Royals, a cavalry regiment of the British Army part of the Household Cavalry alongside his older brother. The young prince completed his training as a troop leader and in 2014, he founded the Invictus Games, an international multi-sport event where wounded, injured, or sick armed services personnel and veterans participate in Olympic like events.

Prince Harry is sixth in line for the throne and is Prince William’s younger brother.

The order of succession is Prince Charles, the son of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, his older brother, Prince Charles, Prince William’s son, Princess Charlotte, Prince William’s daughter, and another baby on the way from Prince William and Duchess Catherine.

The wedding date is set to be in May of next year at Windsor Castle, one of the many royal residences. Meghan Markle, a Protestant, will be baptised into the Church of England before the wedding date in order to hold the same religion as the rest of the royal family.
