Ed Sheeran is known for his love ballads and tends to steal the hearts of many females, but Cherry Seaborn is one gal that won his heart.  

Sheeran’s newest ballad, “Perfect,” is about his feelings for Seaborn, and with the perfect lady comes a perfect engagement. Yes, Sheeran took to Twitter to announce the news of the engagement. Not many people know about Seaborn, so here is the love story between the two:

Cherry Seaborn met Ed Sheeran at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk, where the crooner is believed to have had a crush on his classmate.

The pair finished their secondary education there.

Sheeran developed a crush on his pretty classmate but any chance of romance was cut short as academic Seaborn transferred to America to attend Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she studied for a degree in molecular biology.

Years went by and Sheeran became a world sensation but had a hard time dealing with the sudden hit of fame.  

In a recent interview, Sheeran said he even locked himself away in his London home for four months as he struggled to come to terms with his enormous celebrity.

“I watched movies. I couldn’t just go out and get a pint of milk. I always wanted to maintain normality. I was ordering takeaways and putting on a lot of weight,” he admitted.

After hitting a low-point, Sheeran opted to use some of his extraordinary wealth to tour the world – including a stop in Cherry’s new place of residence on coincidence and ended up getting back some normalcy he desperately wanted back in his life.

Desperate to get in touch with his roots after hiis mammoth success, he reached out to Seaborn and it wasn’t long before the pair had been photographed enjoying each other’s company as well as attending some baseball games.

“This has been the first time I’ve ever actually had the time to fall in love properly. I’ve always got into relationships very passionately — I’m a redhead and also Irish,” Ed previously said of the early days. So during that time he decided to take a year off break to focus on himself, dealing with fame and also developing his relationship with Seaborn.

The pair since have moved into together with their cats and now their love story has captured many hearts as Sheeran posted a picture with Seaborn captioned, “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”

Now that the wedding bells are ringing, we can’t wait to hear their “ I do’s.
