The three-year-old son of a park ranger has been snatched and eaten by a leopard at a safari park in Uganda two weeks ago.

The toddler was being looked after by a nanny in unfenced staff quarters at a safari lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park

The leopard snatched the three-year-old, who has not been named, and dragged him into the bush.

His remains were found the next day and the big animal is now being hunted so that it can be removed from the wild.

“Once it has eaten human flesh the temptations are high to eat another human being, it becomes dangerous,” said Uganda Wildlife Authority spokesman Bashir Hangi.

The nanny heard the little boy screaming for help but when she went rushing to find him it was too late. The leopard had vanished into the bushes.

What I don’t understand is what was a 3 year old boy doing behind the nanny instead of the front where she can see him? I feel like the nanny is responsible for this incident in some kind of way because the toddler should of been in her plain site because if he was in front he probably wouldn’t have gotten snatchen up by the animal.

The boy’s father, Francis Nabugyere, a police officer, told The Kampala Post his son’s remains were presented to him in a coffin for burial.

Last week in South Africa a filmmaker was killed by a giraffe at a safari lodge, and the British owner of a wildlife park was mauled by a lion he had raised since it was a cub.

These animals are in the wild for a reason. They are not pets so we shouldn’t treat them like they are. The government needs to prevent people from going into the wild, they aren’t doing enough to prevent these tragic accidents.

“The nanny should have payed more attention to the kid because at the end of the day she was the babysitter and she didn’t even do her job right., the kid was behind her not in front like a normal babysitter would do” said a young female student at Naugatuck High School.

The babysitter should have done more to prevent this tragic accident.
