Celebrating Women’s History Month – the woman who gives back
Every year on March 8th women are celebrated; they are celebrated for the global, economic, political and cultural contributions to the world community. Lots of women help out the world by being involved in many charities or just helping others in general. One of these many women is Joanna Gaines, TV personality and philanthropist.
Joanna and her husband Chip run a foundation called Magnolia Foundation. The foundation is known for supporting and working with charities, mostly ones that fall under orphan care, youth development, family housing, and community restoration. In January 2019, Joanna and Chip donated to an organization called The Cove which had provided support and services to hundreds of Waco students.
That is not the only thing Joanna Gaines does. She and her husband have a TV show on HGTV called Fixer Upper that is all about helping people get their dream home. They find foreclosure homes and then have their customers pick what they want and then Joanna designs it to make it most comfortable for the people.
Women like Joanna inspire millions of people in this world, people find her a “model of intelligence, talent, motherhood and entrepreneurship,” said Mrs. Carolyne Dymond, an English teacher at NHS. She doesn’t really impact my life but I “learn a lot from her. She inspires and teaches people to improve their living environment.”
International Women’s Day is really important because it just proves to others how important woman actually are. Everyday they inspire people and help out with their community just like Joanna for example. She gives back to her community and gives people their dream home. Woman like her should be celebrated, not just on a month but all year around.
