The Royal Family welcomes Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor
At last, on May 6, 2019, Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, welcomed the highly anticipated royal baby into the world.
The Duchess gave birth to a seven pounds, three ounces healthy baby boy at five twenty-six in the morning, British Summer Time (BST).
However, baby Sussex, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was introduced to the public on May 8, two days after he was born.
Prince Harry was thrilled about the birth of his son. While talking to the press, Prince Harry exclaimed that he is “so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.”
In addition, the traditional framed notice of the birth at the Palace stated that the Royal Family were delighted at the news of the baby born.
This is Queen Elizabeth II’s eighth great-grandchild, but for Doria Ragland, mother of Markle, this is her first grandchild.
The baby will be seventh in line for the throne and will not automatically be given the title of prince until grandfather, Prince Charles, becomes king.
The announcement of Markle’s pregnancy was announced in October 2018 while on an overseas tour in Australia. However other details regarding the pregnancy and the birth of baby Sussex were extremely private.
Prince Harry and Markle decided to opt out of the tradition of having the baby at the Lindo Wing of Saint Mary’s hospital in London and even decided to not present the baby to the world the day he was born.
Even though Archie is only a few days old he is already a trailblazer in the Royal Family.
He is a dual citizen, having citizenship in both England and the United States of America. As well, he is the first biracial British child in the royal family, which is a milestone for the Commonwealth and the entire British society.
In an Instagram post, the couple thanked everyone for all the support and kindness they received during Markle’s pregnancy. As well, Prince Harry told reporters that “we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love.”
Welcome to the world, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor; may you keep trailblazing through the Royal Family and redefining the norms.
