Ohio grandmother murders her own grandson
Yisenya Flores, 45, a grandmother from Toledo, Ohio was arrested after she allegedly beat her 5-year-old grandson Anjuan M. Hare III to death on September 19, 2019.
The fire department responded to a call Thursday the 19th from Yisenya Flores, and she reported that her grandson fell off his bed and was injured. She claimed he had jumped from a box spring mattress onto a carpeted floor and hit his head.
Medics immediately rushed the child to Toledo Hospital where he later unfortunately passed away.
According to WTVG the hospital staff told authorities that the injuries were not consistent with the story that they´ve gotten from the grandmother. This resulted in an investigation and they later found out that there were other marks on the boy that were similar only from an earlier date prior to the incident.
The Toledo coroner’s office later confirmed that the late 5-year-old Anjuan M. Hare III died from a result of multiple traumatic blunt force injuries. All signs pointed to this case being a homicide.
After being investigated by the police, Flores admitted to authorities that she put her hands on the child the day before the incident but did not contact the authorities until the next day at around 11 p.m.
In her interview, she claimed that the child was “lethargic, and semi unresponsive” after being struck by her.
Flores was originally charged on September 19 with child endangerment. The judge set her bond at $500,000 US Dollars but eventually increased it to $1,000,000 dollars after adding a murder charge on September 22.
She is now awaiting her next court date.
