Taylor Swift, singer-songwriter, 12-time Music Grammy winner, and Travis Kelce, NFL Kansas City Chief tight end and 2-time Super Bowl winner have been rumored to be dating.
Kelce has claimed that the pair are “just getting to know each other”, as Swift has been spotted at 3 NFL games with Kelce’s mother and father.
The reactions from fans flooded in with excitement and some backlash. Kelce fully admitted to having a crush on Swift in July of 2023, and he claimed he wanted to meet the pop star at her tour, The Eras Tour, to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it.
Swift was first seen at the NFL game between the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs on September 24th. She was seated next to Kelce’s mother “Mama Kelce” and was shown cheering on Kelce multiple times throughout the game. After the game, Swift and Kelce were seen leaving together and then spotted at a popular restaurant with Kelce’s family.
Swift was seen a week later on October 1st at the NFL game between the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs alongside some of her friends such as Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, and Sabrina Carpenter. Following that Swift also attended the game between the Broncos and Chiefs on October 12th.
These public appearances have not been their only encounters with each other, as they have been reportedly spending time together in private getting to know each other.
Throughout a decade, Swift has reportedly been in a few different relationships that all ended badly and received a lot of news coverage. Kelce would be the thirteenth one if the rumors are true.
In 2006 Swift released her first No. 1 hit “Our Song” which had a 13-second intro. Swift has claimed every sense that 13 was her lucky number. Swifts fans over the years have drawn 13s on their hands during concerts and other events to show their support.
On October 8th Kelce was asked various questions regarding Swift in a press conference. When asked how he felt about the attention he was receiving from the situation he stated, “I was on top of the world after the Super Bowl, and now I’m even more on top of the world.”
“We are learning with the paparazzi taking photos from all over the place but at the same time, it comes with it. There are a lot of people who care about Taylor and for good reasons.”
Swifties have been celebrating Kelce’s statements. As he continues to praise Swift, ‘Swifties’ have taken the news well as they have been up to date in all their encounters in public.
Swift and Kelce were seen out in public alone for the first time on October 14th in NYC while heading to SNL. Paparazzi and fans were quick to the scene snapping pictures from all angles of the pair holding hands. A day later on October 15th, they were seen again out and about in NYC once again holding hands.
Kelce was seen being very touchy with Swift at the SNL afterparty. According to an anonymous source, Kelce was “going over and touching her, putting his hands on her waist, and then they would do a little kiss and then they would go back to talking to whoever they were talking to.”
As for Kelce, football fans have not been taking the news as well and think it’s a publicity stunt. Swift was shown numerous times during the first 2 games having football fans enraged as she is always appearing in ads and commercials.
Swift recently just got out of a six-year-long relationship, (2016-2023) with Joe Alwyn.
“We live in a culture that is so increasingly intrusive” Alwyn stated proving his desire for privacy, which is not going to happen when you date Taylor Swift.
We asked a local Taylor Swift fan how she felt about the situation and she stated “I think this is good for her, they seem happy together and he doesn’t seem ashamed of her at all. I’m also living for all the new Taylor content.”
The pair appears to be more than friends but are not fully official as Swift and Kelce have been making more public appearances. Since both have such big fan bases the situation caught the media’s attention and led to many opinions from their fans.
