Alex Jones, a 49-year-old man and self-proclaimed journalist from Dallas Texas, was told by a judge that he cannot erase the 1.1 billion he owes Sandy Hook parents in bankruptcy. Jones was sued and lost a case that stated he made inappropriate false accusations and conspiracy theories surrounding the subject of the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
Jones called the deadliest school shooting in America, which resulted in the murder of twenty-six human lives, a hoax. Twenty students along with six staff members were shot and killed on December 14, 2021, during a school shooting.
His outrageous claims and conspiracy theories have led to the harassment of the victims’ families. In an attempt to silence Jones, a Texas judge decided he had to pay approximately 1.1 billion dollars to the families.
Jones has not paid any of the money he owes. On December 2nd, 2022, Jones pulled the same stunt, wanting to claim bankruptcy.
Now on October 20th, 2023, Jones claims he is in debt as he is trying to use the action of bankruptcy as protection to avoid these payments.
“At the end of the day, they won’t take my free speech away,” Jones stated as he told his audience about the supposed hoax in Sandy Hook.
According to the lawyers of the victim’s families, Jones was found to have spent 93,000 dollars in July this summer on fun activities and food. This angered the society of the victims’ families, as they hadn’t seen any payments towards their court-awarded damages.
“Crisis actors” are what Jones’s believers labeled the Sandy Hook victims. The Jones believers generally stand by what Jones has to say, as they come at the relatives of the victims very harshly.
“I’m still going to be on the air one way or another,” Jones states, who is very big on having publicity and being “on air” as he claimed multiple times.
“How can he be so insensitive, treating the victims with such awful behavior? That serious lack of sympathy is insane,” said one NHS student, when asked her thoughts on the pundit.
“Officially out of money,” Jones explained to his audience last year and followed that statement up, wanting them to shop at his Infowars website so he can gain money to pay what he owes finally.
As time goes on this amount needed to be paid by Jones can increase over time.
Relatives of the victims are now very happy and settled with the idea of Jones not being able to use his bankruptcy protection to avoid his pay, as the families know what they deserve.
