A manhunt was under way in Oklahoma Monday October 24, 2016 for a suspect accused of shooting and wounding two police officers with an AK-47 and also stealing their patrol car.

Also, investigators found two of his family members dead in a home where he supposedly was hiding after the shooting of the police officers on Sunday. Michael Vance shot one Wellston police officer in the foot and the other in the legs. Vance also has HIV/AIDS and will spread disease according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The Lincoln County Sheriff said that authorities were called to investigate a report of shots fired on Sunday. When the police officers came to the scene, Vance approached them and started firing. Vance and an accomplice then stole a police car and drove to a mobile home park. The second man whose name is unknown was arrested, authorities said.
Vance also hijacked a woman, shot her and drove off. The woman was injured but she was not taken to the hospital. Oklahoma City television station KWTV reported that Vance uploaded a video of himself running from the police. In this video, He also said, “If you wanna know what’s up next, stay tuned to your local news.”

It is believed Vance is driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse with a blue roof. He is a Native American and weighs 5’11 weighing 212 pounds. This suspect is in a town Wellston, which is 30 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. Vance was recently released from Lincoln County Jail after being held on child sexual assault allegations prior to his recent crimes.

This past Sunday, October 30, 2016, Michael Dale Vance was shot and killed by a Oklahoma state trooper near Leedey, the western part of the state. Vance shot and wounded a Dewey County officer earlier that day. Investigators said Vance had apparently been staying at a campsite near Hammon 100 miles of Oklahoma City. The Officer pursued after Vance for about an hour, and when an Oklahoma police officer approached him, Vance fired and the officer returned fire. Vance died on the scene.
