Many women fear that Trump will attack abortion

Abortion is one of many controversial ideas our country has.  One reason abortion is so controversial is, according to the National Review, the 14th amendment states that we cannot deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.  Due to it being an amendment it is quite difficult to declare a law which can be construed as murder by many. On the other hand, many believe that what a women wants to do or perform to her body should be her given right.

Abortion arose as a controversial issue once again this election year. According to CNN Donald Trump suggested women should face some sort of punishment if had or having an abortion but that he didn’t know what form of punishment would be acceptable.

He also said that men involved in an unwanted pregnancy that led to an abortion would not face any type of punishment. Exactly how can a  man not be held accountable but the women will. Both sides should be accountable if both sides are going to be responsible for life.

Personally as a female it is insulting that a man who will be my future president believes that a women should be blamed for having sex and a man shouldn’t. what about gender equality?  It makes me question if my future president will take away my right that many women had to fight for women today to have .

According to The New York Times, Donald Trump had a conversation which included him saying certain things with interacts with rape culture and totally minimizes women. According to Rolling Stone ”I wasn’t particularly shocked hearing Donald Trump brag about sexually harassing and groping women on a hot mic tape leaked Friday to the Washington Post,” said  .

The phone call conversation goes as so According to The New York Times:

Donald J. Trump: You know and …

Unknown: She used to be great. She’s still very beautiful.

Trump: I moved on her, actually. You know, she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her, and I failed. I’ll admit it.

                    Unknown: Whoa.

Trump: I did try and f*** her. She was married.

                   Unknown: That’s huge news.

The rest of the conversation is highly offensive and inappropriate to print.

According to Huffington Post, “This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course ― not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.  This is our future president. And he will be spearheading the decisions on abortion legality.

Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of women’s advocacy organization UltraViolet Action, said in a statement: “Comments like these … are an embodiment of a culture that normalizes sexual harassment and violence against women.”

Abortions can have many side effects. According to National Rights of Life, documented complications include hemorrhage, infection, cervical damage, uterine perforation, pelvic inflammatory disease and retained fetal or placental tissue. These complications can affect future fertility and lead to death. If these complications arise, women should have access to a doctor legally night.

Abby Johnson said, “Two weeks after the abortion, I went into labor. I staggered into the bathroom. And there, with my husband beside me, I delivered a part of my baby the doctor had missed. It was the head of my baby. . . I’ll wake up in the middle of the night, thinking I hear a baby crying. And I still have nightmares in which I am forced to watch my baby being ripped apart in front of me. I simply miss my baby. I constantly wake up wanting to nurse my child, wanting to hold my child. And that’s something the doctor never told me I would experience.”
