Fox News anchor, Megyn Kelly, has announced that she will be leaving the network for a new role at NBC News, It was announced Tuesday January 3rd by Andrew Lack, Chairman of the NBCUniversal News Group.

According to money.cnn,  Kelly will become anchor of a new one hour daytime program that she will develop closely with NBC News colleagues. The show will air Monday through Friday at a time to be announced in the coming months. Kelly will also anchor a new Sunday evening news magazine show and will become an important contributor to NBC’s breaking news coverage as well as the network’s political and special events coverage.

Kelly will sign off her 9 p.m. show, “The Kelly File,” on Friday night. She started at Fox News 12 years ago as a legal correspondent and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the network’s biggest stars. Since October 2013, she has hosted her own nightly program called The Kelly File, becoming the second-most-watched host on cable news after her Fox News colleague Bill O’Reilly, according to TVNewser, According to Fox News, Kelly told friends that one of her top priorities was a family-friendly work schedule. Kelly has three young children and wasn’t getting home on weekdays until well after their bedtime. A daytime program on NBC will give Kelly a lot more flexibility/order. She joined Fox News in 2004 as a washington-based correspondent.

According to newenglandone.com, during the 2016, 2014 and 2012 presidential elections and midterm elections, Kelly served as co-anchor of FNC’s America’s Election HQ. She has moderated multiple presidential primary debates, including most notably the first Republican primary debate in August 2015.

In 2016, Kelly was named to Vanity Fair’s New Establishment List, Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Power 100, and Adweek’s The Hot List as News Anchor of the Year. She was named Mediaite’s Most Influential News Anchor. In January 2016, Kelly became only the second news anchor in history to be on the cover of Vanity Fair. Kelly was listed as one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2014. She is also the author of, Settle for More, her memoir, which debuted at number one on the New York Times best seller list
