Naugy Blood Drive is a success
On January 6, 2017, Naugatuck High School hosted this year’s first annual blood drive. The blood drive was held by the American Red Cross Association and was sponsored by the 2017 class officers. The American Red Cross Association’s main goal is to provide medical attention to whoever may need it. They are always spreading knowledge to educated and share the great causes they support and contribute too.
This event was open to anyone that met the requirements the American Red Cross Association had listed. A fun and heartwarming chance where both students in the 11th and 12th grade could participate in, just as long as they were 17 years of age. This year’s event was a success. Many students and staff took this opportunity to donate and help those in need.
Rohani Musa, a Naugatuck High School senior stated, “It was such a cool learning experience, it was nice to be able to help others in need. I can definitely see myself doing this again in the future”.
Other students such as Devon Curtis, a other Naugatuck High School senior also shared a positive experience. Devon stated, “It was a nice thing to do and knowing that it was for a good cause made it all the better”.
This event was not only beneficial to students of Naugatuck High School but just as much to the American Red Cross Association. They were able to spread knowledge to young adults and inspire many to donate in future blood drives.
Overall, Naugatuck High School first annual blood drive was nothing less than a success. Hopefully as the school year goes by more and more opportunities like this one come along, where both students and staff could get together and provide help for those in need.
I'm Pedro. I play soccer for the high school and enjoy meeting new people. I also have plans to attend college after high school.
