“Today” show host and MSNBC news anchor, Tamron Hall, left the network on Tuesday January 31, in order to make room for Megyn Kelly’s new show who joined the NBC network in January 3.

According to NYtimes.com, an NBC spokesperson said on Wednesday, February 1st, that Hall has left both her “Today” and MSNBC shows. In a statement, the network said it was her decision. Her last day was Tuesday and her contract expires this month.

The news comes out a week before Hall left the network, it was revealed that NBC was planning to take away with the current setup of the 9 a.m. hour, which was hosted by Hall and Al Roker, to make room for Megyn Kelly’s third hour of Today, or putting Kelly on the fourth hour show which is hosted by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford, meaning switching Kotb and Gifford will take over the 9am hour and Kelly will host the 10am hour. No word yet on which time slot Kelly will takeover, The show is expected to debut in the fall. In the meantime Al Roker is expected to continue hosting the 9 a.m. hour until then.

NBC said in a statement saying, “Tamron is an exceptional journalist, we valued and enjoyed her work at ‘Today’ and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay, We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best.”

Hall, in an NBC statement, said, “The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I’m grateful. I’m also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.”

The former Fox News anchor is expected to make her debut with NBC in the fall. She’s under contract with Fox News until July, but signed off from the network in early January after announcing her decision to jump to NBC.

Kelly is reportedly making anywhere from $12 million to $15 million with NBC. She turned down a reported $25 million yearly salary with Fox, citing a desire to not work nights hosting a primetime program, she hosted a 9pm show called “The Kelly File” and a need to spend more time with her three young children in afternoon and evening hours instead.

Hall has been with MSNBC since 2007, she anchors MSNBC Live at 11am. She became co-anchor of the third hour of “Today” in 2014.
