Mr. T is joining Dancing With The Stars

When people hear, “I pity the fool” they all think of Mr. T, a famous actor and former professional wrestler. Mr. T, who is now a part of season 24 of Dancing with the Stars, will dance alongside  Kym Johnson.

Lawrence Tureaud, also known as Mr.T is an actor and retired professional wrestler known for his roles in the 1980s television series, The A-Team and as boxer Clubber Lang in the 1982 film Rocky III.

In his early life, he was born on May 21, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois. He is the youngest boy in a family of 12 children. His father was a minister who left the family when he was only five years old, leaving his mother to raise him and his siblings. In the mid 70s, Mr. T returned to Chicago and found a job as a doorman. His days as a military policeman helped him gain a reputation as one of Chicago’s toughest, and most infamous, bouncers.

Mr. T has been paired with Kym Johnson-Herjavec, an Australian professional ballroom dancer and also television performer. She has appeared in the first three seasons of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars as a professional dancer, before moving to the U.S. version of the franchise from 2006 to 2015. Johnson returned back to the U.S. series in 2017 for its twenty-fourth season. She has been served as a judge on the Australian version of the show since 2013.

This was the last tweet Mr. T posted before announcing that he will be joining DWTS, Mr T tweeted on March 1,

“Hey Fool! I will be on Dancing With The Stars (DWTS)! I am honored to have two-time champion Kym Johnson as my partner…”

Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday, March 20 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
