The Naugy girls have a strong team
The Naugy girls are off to a slow start this season.
Wolcott took a 9-6 victory Monday night at Veterans Field in Naugatuck, moving the Greyhounds to a (6-9) record for the 2017 season.
Nicole Antonwicz pitched Wolcott to the victory with 9K’s, and only allowed the Greyhounds 8 hits.
Alexis Boyce hit 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI’s. Larringan Costello had 2 doubles, a single, and 2 runs scored for Wolcott.
In the bottom of the 6th inning the Greyhounds had two big hits coming from Langhans and Kennedy. Alex Langhans hit a double scoring Olivia Rotatori bring the Greyhounds within 4.
Molly Kennedy was due up and hit a 2 run home run making the score 4-6.
“She was focusing on doing a job for the team and to focus on bettering herself and bettering the team,” said Kennedy.
Senior Alex Langhans who is having a very successful season with 6 homeruns and 21 hits on the season. “There is no added pressure I just go up there looking for something to drive,” Langhans said.
The Greyhounds look to grab a few wins this week with some big games ahead against Woodland and Watertown.
