It’s okay to take a knee

Many people would say take a stand in the case of oppression,  or in this case, take the knee.

According to NBCnews , Jerry Jones and Dallas cowboys took a knee in protest to Trump’s irrational comments about their silent protest.

Trump and his hothead put the NFL on the spot while showing their protest against racial discrimination in law enforcement.  According to CNN, “ Trump’s NFL and Puerto Rico tweets prove his goal is to divide, not unite the country .

Trump tweeted, “ I think it’s very disrespectful to our flag and to our country.“

If that’s how you feel, Trump , why are your tweets on your personal account disrespectful? For example,  “I loved beating these two terrible human beings. I would never recommend that anyone use her lawyer, he is a total loser! “ 7:24  May 23 , 2013 @realDonaldTrump .

Oh please there is no room for your hypocrisy, Mr. President. The protest offends certain people but imagine waking up in a world that your brown skin is controversial. How about worrying about bigger world problems like slavery in the Middle East or hurricane recovery? A flag really shouldn’t be your worries when there are people sleeping in swamps because their homes are destroyed .

Let’s talk about motive.

“Taking a Knee Did Not Stop a Shooting in Chicago or Raise Anyone Out of Poverty“ tweeted @EWErickson.

“And wearing pink doesn’t stop breast cancer. We do it to raise awareness.“  tweeted  @cieeeerraaa.

Whatever the motive is to take a knee, it is a peaceful non violent protest. People say stand up for what you believe in, so why are many people so angry over a knee?

Are you hurt? Are you physically hurt ? Sorry if you’re offended, Mr. Trump, that the line in the Pledge of Allegiance,  “Indivisible with liberty  and justice for all “  does apply to everyone in today’s modern day. Can we talk about the racist line in the national anthem that isn’t said but still remains

According to Thomhartmann.com:

No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:

Racism is encrypted into our National Anthem and tell me Susan the football fan booing from the stands; do you expect African-Americans to stand up when they get put down?

Even veterans disagree that the kneeling disrespects. According to USAtoday , a 97 year old WWII vet takes a knee in solidarity and said, “ those kids have every right to protest.”

Protests change history. It’s a way to bring attention to real world problems. Something that you believe should change.

Speak your voice America! Listen to them speak, Mr. Trump.
