Orissa India is a country known for its abundance of rambunctious and mischievous creatures. Despite its widespread reputation for having animals of all kinds, this story is still striking to hear about.

A simian monkey stole a baby from its home right in front of the baby’s mother.

These mischievous primates are often caught stealing food and ransacking houses that populate the area but this case in particular is nearly unheard of.

The 16 day old baby was stolen around 6 am while the mother was still close by. As soon as the mother noticed what was going on she cried for help but the monkey was soon out of her sight.  

The baby was sleeping next to his mother when the monkey allegedly carried him away. A relative later found the baby dead in a well.

“We have registered a case of unnatural death and are getting an autopsy done. There are bruises on the child’s left hand. The baby might have slipped from the clutches of the monkey, and died after falling into the well,” said police officer PC Pradhan.

This well-known beloved animal has shown its darker side to the public through this horrific act.
