How did Martin Luther King Jr win the Nobel peace prize? 

In 1964 Martin Luther King won the Nobel peace prize for his leadership of the Civil Rights movement and achieving non-racial with non-violents in the country.

Dr. King donated his prize money $54,600 to the civil rights movement.

Sadly on April 4, 1968, Martin was assassinated, but his words and his prize will never be forgotten.
