LaVar Ball offends many in basketball
LaVar Ball is the father of UCLA basketball star Lonzo Ball and two Chino Hills basketball stars LiAngelo and Lamelo Ball. All three athletes are committed to play basketball at UCLA in the years to come.
Lately with the March Madness Tournament underway the press has seen a lot of both LaVar and his son Lonzo. Lonzo has released to the press that he is going to leave UCLA and go into the NBA draft. He is expected to be the second overall pick and to fall no farther than the third pick overall.
Lonzo announced this after the loss in the Sweet 16 to Kentucky and will enter the 2017 NBA draft. According to ESPN Ball says, “That was my final game for UCLA, and I appreciate all the fans and all the support.”
Lonzo’s outspoken dad LaVar is hoping that he gets signed to a billion dollar shoe deal with either Nike, Adidas, or Under Armour.
According to ESPN LaVar said, “A Billion dollars, it has to be there. That’s our number straight out of the gates. And you don’t even have to give it to me all up front. Give us $100 mil over 10 years.”
Overbearing sports fathers can be very distracting to the player. For an example Lonzo Ball’s father is acting like an overbearing father because he is trying to put so much hype on his kid and trying to build him up. Lucky Lonzo can live up to the expectations and the hype his father is putting on him.
Ball has made it a trend to build his son up to the public and in the world of basketball. LaVar Ball even said his son is better than Stephen Curry. Many critics feel that is just ridiculous because Curry is the best three point shooter in the world. Lonzo is a good player, but he just isn’t on the level that Curry is on. In the next few years with a little more NBA experience then maybe yes but at this moment saying that is just bazar.
I am a senior athlete, and I am looking forward to pursuing a career in communications, I will be attending Post University in the fall 2017.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Lonzo Ball will play in the NBA, If he will continue to perform at a high level or crush under pressure.

Lavar Ball is a little crazy but he’s just a very supportive father , what’s wrong with that? Everyone hates him because he says some crazy things but at the end of the day he truly believes his boys can accomplish anything.. what’s bad about a supportive father?
