Our reactions to Logan Paul

Logan Paul has been in the news lately for his alleged lack of regard for his audience because of  content he releases. Paul posted a video of himself and friends, exploring suicide forest. Which is the Japan’s Aokigahara Forest, commonly referred to as a “suicide” forest, cause it’s an area where many people have taken their own lives.

They discovered a recently deceased body and exposed it in his video, which enraged many viewers.

He had taken a three week break from YouTube but made a comeback video on February 5th 2018 called Suicide: Be Here Tomorrow which he donated one million dollars of his own money to various suicide prevention organizations.

People thought that he had learned from this experience but he went on to post a video in which he tasered two dead rats and pretended to do CPR on his koi fish while it was alive and out of the water.

We asked the community about their thoughts on this subject and many students in Naugatuck had a lot to say about Paul’s antics.

”He’s disrespectful. Young and stupid and didn’t even really think about the consequences. I think he’s trying to repair his image cause you know youtube is his job,” said one male student.

“I honestly think he has no heart because I understand he’s living off YouTube, and that’s his living but the thing is you don’t go around and show something like that for views,” said one female student.

And about the video…

“It was not a genuine act.  I don’t think he would have said anything for what he did if it wasn’t for all the negative feedback. He probably just didn’t want to lose views,” said one female student.

“I feel like he just wanted to clean up his act,” said one male student.

“I think it could have been both a genuine act and cover up. Just out of the kindness of his heart is why I think he apologized, but also so he wouldn’t be taken off YouTube,” said one male.

Should he be banned…

“He should be banned from youtube, because even after his apologetic video, he then posted a video where he tased dead rats, which is why I think he didn’t learn his lesson,” said one male freshman.

I think maybe he shouldn’t be banned from youtube but instead they make him take a course for what’s appropriate and not appropriate,” said one male junior.

“I’ve been wanting him to get banned. Even though there are no more ads based on his videos, he shouldn’t still be getting paid for what he does, because in my opinion what he does is sick,” said one female senior.

Only time will tell the fate of Logan Paul and his time on YouTube. For those, who are offended don’t give his videos anymore views. YouTube is being stricter policies so who knows what will happen now.
