Swift seeks karma
On August twenty fourth Taylor Swift’s new single “Look What You Made Me Do” has hit the internet by storm with whispers of a come back. Swift has been keeping a low profile since the drama surrounding her with the Wests .
In the video, she is seen sitting on a throne with snakes all around her. It seems as if it is a response to the snake memes and her owning the fact that the world now sees her as one. She is owning the drama that has followed her and own her reputation.
In the song she boldly sings, “I‘ve got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined. I check it once, then I check it twice.” She is referring to the people who did her wrong. She checks it once for Kanye and another time for Kim.
As the song continues her intentions become more clear. “Not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma and then the world moves on, but one thing’s for sure Maybe I got mine, but you’ll all get yours,” she says. The world might have thought the drama between them ended, but Swift isn’t letting it go that easily. She acknowledges the fact that she got her karma but she will make sure that Kim and Kanye will get theirs.
The drama between them sparked when Kanye West released “Famous” in February 14, 2016. In this song he calls Taylor some degrading names as well as implying that he is the only reason she is has successful as she is.
Swift showed her hate towards those lyrics but that was not until Kim West released a video last year on June eighteenth of a call between Kanye and Taylor asking for her permission to use those lyrics to which she agreed. The public responded to her alleged lie with her snake emoticons and memes.
It looks like this drama isn’t over, did we ever think it would be? What will Kanye and Kim say? What will be their karma?
According to Swift, the old Taylor is dead so what does the new Taylor have in store?
