Trump retweets violent videos from The Netherlands

On Wednesday, November 29, President Donald Trump retweeted an anti-Muslim video that showed a migrant in Europe beating a boy with crutches, the suspect was said to have no religious beliefs. The video being recorded was set in the Netherlands as more people had been thrown off the top roof and beaten to death.

Two very different sides show support and resent of the tweet Trump had sent out, but the outrage came when news revealed the criminal was not of the Muslim faith. The Trump administration accepted the video  as authentic and said it didn’t matter if the video was showing a man of Muslim faith or not. It still shows what foreign terrorists can do.

The Netherlands Embassy tweeted a response to President Trump.

¨Facts do matter. The perpetrator of the violent act in this video was born and raised in the Netherlands. He received and completed his sentence under Dutch law.¨

This tweet started a domino reaction where many others spoke out about their opinion on the retweets and how they were unethical. This also opened the door for the backlash Trump would receive later on.

A United Kingdom native, David Lammy, tweeted about his disapproval.

The President of the United States is promoting a fascist, racist, extremist hate group whose leaders have been arrested and convicted. He is no ally or friend of ours. Donald Trump you are not welcome in my country and my city.”

This response discloses the president’s source, Britain First, a far-right nationalist British movement.

Trump remain undeterred about his retweets and about his immigration policies.
