A popular cuisine

The fast casual concept has been one of the fastest growing movements in the restaurant industry during the last decade. These include restaurants that are positioned somewhere between fast food restaurants and casual dining restaurants. Chipotle Mexican Grill is a popular Mexican eatery with many franchises across the country. Founded by Steve Ells in 1993, Chipotle had sixteen restaurants. With its rapidly growing popularity, Mcdonald’s made an investment in the company in 1998. The investment allowed the firm to quickly expand from sixteen locations in 1998 to over 500 in 2005. In 2006, Mcdonald’s fully divested from Chipotle.

Famous for their burritos, Chipotle offers a variety of choices for ingredients. With a choice of white or brown rice, and black or pinto beans, this is the base of your burrito. Chipotle has various options of meat ranging from chicken, steak, barbacoa(shredded beef), carnitas(shredded pork), and sofritas(tofu). To top off this creation, mild, medium, or hot salsa, sour cream, and cheese can all be added, and for only $2.05 extra their world famous guacamole can be added to the burrito. Grab a bag of chips and salsa to accompany the burrito and diners are on their way to a delicious meal.
